This Celluloid dream

Teen who killed family on Donaldson ranch goes free

The article is about the young individual who back when he was 14 murdered His Father,Stepmother, and stepsister. He was convicted in 2006. But he has turned 21 and he is no longer a juvenile so he has been set free.

Overall there isn't much opposition with this decision, au contraire, Cody Posey has a lot of support especially from his uncle. He has received his High school diploma and even some college credits. I think this is a really good thing, usually we ostracize some released convicts because of their history. But some people actually have the motivation to move on, especially this young man.

Its an example that maybe we should start working on the way we handle criminals. Jails cost a lot of money to maintain and the tax payers end up paying for it all. But I'm not suggesting some kind of brainwashing procedure like we saw in Clockwork Orange. But Posey's case is an example that some convicts do want to change and want to be productive individuals in this society.
