This Celluloid dream

Teen who killed family on Donaldson ranch goes free

The article is about the young individual who back when he was 14 murdered His Father,Stepmother, and stepsister. He was convicted in 2006. But he has turned 21 and he is no longer a juvenile so he has been set free.

Overall there isn't much opposition with this decision, au contraire, Cody Posey has a lot of support especially from his uncle. He has received his High school diploma and even some college credits. I think this is a really good thing, usually we ostracize some released convicts because of their history. But some people actually have the motivation to move on, especially this young man.

Its an example that maybe we should start working on the way we handle criminals. Jails cost a lot of money to maintain and the tax payers end up paying for it all. But I'm not suggesting some kind of brainwashing procedure like we saw in Clockwork Orange. But Posey's case is an example that some convicts do want to change and want to be productive individuals in this society.

Meg Whitman says she unknowingly employed an illegal immigrant for nine years.

The article talks about how The Candidate for California Governor Meg Whitman hired an illegal immigrant for almost a decade! First of all I'd like to clarify that I don't lean towards a side when it comes to the issue of immigration, same with Politicians, I have no interest in politics.

While reading the Article I noticed a lot of tiny flaws that Meg Whitman shows in her statements. Well maybe they're not flaws but she gave hints throughout the article that she might be lying about the whole situation. Theres a lot of things that don't make sense to me.

For example, Doesn't anyone find it weird that the housekeeper got fired after 10 years right before Meg Whitman ran for Governor? Did they honestly find out she was an Illegal Immigrant after 10 years or did they jut turn the other way and pretend they didn't see anything? They DID receive a letter from the social security administration which Meg says it might have been "intercepted" by their Housekeeper to avoid being caught with a fake social security number, But wouldn't they kept sending letters or wouldn't the Whitman household requested a second letter?

It really doesn't feel or look like they did everything to make sure they hired someone legal to work for them. True, it might be a tactic by her competitors to discredit her and make her look bad in her campaign. But honestly shes not handling the situation well enough. Maybe some honesty might help her get some votes?
